Stephen Hawking is a theoretical and astrophysicist. Hawking is the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Hawking has made many claims regarding black holes and quantum gravity, "Information is lost in the black hole histories but information is persevered in histories without a black hole... If one waits long enough only the histories without a black hole will be significant, so in the end information is preserved." Hawking claims to have theorems regarding singularities in the framework of general relativity, and the theoretical prediction that black holes should emit radiation, which is known today as Hawking radiation.
