"Food Matters is a hard hitting, fast paced look at our current state of health. Despite the billions of dollars of funding and research into new so-called cures we continue to suffer from a raft of chronic ills and every day maladies. Patching up an over-toxic and over-indulgent population with a host of toxic therapies and nutrient sparse foods is definitely not helping the situation.
In a personal quest of discovery James and Laurentine together with a film crew and the editorial and production expertise of Enzo Tedeschi have set out on an independent mission to uncover the wholesome truth. The filmmakers have interviewed several world leaders in nutrition and natural healing who claim that not only are we harming our bodies with improper nutrition, but that the right kind of foods, supplements and detoxification can be used to treat chronic illnesses as fatal as terminally diagnosed cancer.
‘Food Matters' seeks to uncover the business of disease and at the same time explore the safe, cheap and effective use of nutrition and supplementation for preventing and often reversing the underlying causative aspects of the illness. With the premise of the film being: access to solid information helps people invariably make better choices for their health." -foodmatters.tv

"Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans with diabetes who switch to a diet consisting entirely of vegan, organic, uncooked food in order to reverse disease without pharmaceutical medication. The six are challenged to give up meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food for 30 days. The film follows each participant's remarkable journey and captures the medical, physical, and emotional transformations brought on by this radical diet and lifestyle change. We witness moments of struggle, support, and hope as what is revealed, with startling clarity, is that diet can reverse disease and change lives." -rawforthirtydays.com

Our Noble Lineage: The Three Treasures of Taoism
Submitted by Jray Nels on November 17, 2008 - 9:56am"From the dawn of time, humankind was ordained by God to be the benevolent and compassionate rulers over the Earth and its inhabitants. He has provided us in abundance with every fruit-yielding seed that is on the surface of all the Earth and every tree that has fruit-yielding seed, that shall be our food ... God has sent many enlightened masters, sages and prophets down to Earth through the ages to remind us of our noble heritage. During their time on Earth these enlightened beings: Lord Krishna, Muhammad, Jesus Christ, Shakyamuni Buddha, Lao Tzu, Yogananda and many more shared with us the best, most noble way to live. With their great love and compassion, they have clearly felt and understood that animals are God's precious creatures to be loved and protected. Thus, they have each clearly instructed their followers that the vegetarian diet is the only one that is suitable for humankind... In this program, Our Noble Lineage, we will examine these roots to the religions that exist in the world today. We will see that the founders could only have been very strongly committed vegetarians and thus, the roots of religions are vegetarian."

Thomas Lodi: Healing Cancer from the Inside Out
Submitted by Jray Nels on October 26, 2008 - 10:31amAt this 36th annual convention, Thomas Lodi MD speaks to the Cancer Control Society about healing from within. Thomas addresses the nature of disease, explaining that, "disease is because of the violation of natural laws." He claims that, "One out of two men will get cancer in their lifetime. One out of 2.8 women will get cancer in their lifetime. Every twenty five seconds, one of us dies from heart disease. This doesn’t happen in nature."
Dr. Lodi considers human development, genetics and cancer, and requests, "What is nature’s cure? What do all animals do when their sick?" He accentuates that, "this group [Humans] was designed by nature for a plant-based diet," and emphasizes his understanding that, "The cure comes from within. It never comes from without. You cannot buy a cure but, you can earn your health."
Paul Stamets Speaks at the 1999 Psychoactivity Conference in Amsterdam
Submitted by Jray Nels on October 24, 2008 - 10:32amPaul Stamets is a well-known mycologist, who has authored many books on mushroom biology, composition, and use, “This talk is going to center on the psilocybin active species.” In this presentation, Paul discusses cultural artifacts that resemble the venerate use of mushrooms in earlier civilization. He displays his work on spores and germination using scanning electro-microscopes, and explains that, “In 1980, I started a business called Fungi Perfecti ... I would be a very wealthy person had I chosen to sell spore prints of psilocybin mushrooms.”
Stamets claims that the greatest achievement of science in this century is the acknowledgment of our ignorance and elaborates on the significance of numerous species, of which he is affectionate,
“There is no site specific orifice for the digestion of nutrients. The entire surface area is a membrane for the release of enzymes and acids, which break down plant material. It is the entire foundation of our ecosystem. Without fungi, all of the plants would quickly die because, there would be a lack of nutrients. It’s the recycling of dead plant material and other organic complexes back into the ecosystem that is made possible by the mushroom mycelium. I believe this mycelial network is a neural network for the Gaia’n consciousness.”
Creating a World That Can Feed Itself
Submitted by Jray Nels on October 20, 2008 - 10:06amIn this video, Executive Director of google.org, Larry Brilliant along with the Director of Global Development Initiatives, Sonal Shah converse with the Chairman, President and CEO of Monsanto, Hugh Grant and author of In Defense of Food, Michael Pollan. The four have a conversation about the sustainability of food production on the topic of "Creating a World That Can Feed Itself."
Michael Pollan finds Hugh Grant's confidence about the potential of genetically modified foods troubling, given that high yields have not historically been a strength of genetically modified crops. He challenged Monsanto to join the effort to feed the world on terms that are ecologically and economically reasonable -- such as allowing farmers to save seed, which Pollan called critical to food security. Monsanto, “the largest producer and seller of seeds in the world,” currently views seed saving as piracy.
