In this film, Dr. David Ray Griffin investigates the empirical evidence of many 9/11 conspiracy theories, as publicized in his recent book Debunking 9/11 Debunking. In his analysis of September 11th, 2001, Dr. Griffin announces that, "many people, including many journalists, assume that the 9/11 Truth Movement's theory can be dismissed as a priori because it is a conspiracy theory. But, a conspiracy says, in my dictionary, 'An agreement to preform together and illegal, treacherous or evil act.' To hold a conspiracy theory about some event is therefore, simply to believe that that event arose out of such an agreement ... Given this generic meaning of the term, we are conspiracy theorists if we believe individuals have conspired to rob banks, that oil companies have conspired with scientists for hire to conceal the reality of human-caused global warming or if we believe that American presidents have conspired with members of their administration to fabricate pretexts for going to war."

"The moral of this discussion is that there is no a priori way to make a responsible judgement as to which of the theories is correct. We must look at the facts, then ask which theory better fist those facts, we must get empirical."

The Patriot Act

The USA Patriot Act is a controversial body of statutes that was signed into law by George W. Bush on October 26th, 2001. The USA Patriot Act stands for The Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001, and was originally designed, "to deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around the world, to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools, and for other purposes." - thomas.loc.gov (H.R.3162) This piece of legislation deals specifically with surveillance procedures in the War on Terror and other criminal activities. Since this bills passage, many constitutional disputes have been raised against the act, which has been widely criticized for weakening American's civil liberties and Federal Courts have ruled several of the provisions to be unconstitutional.

Although none have passed, several other bills have been proposed to amend the USA Patriot Act such as the: Benjamin Franklin True Patriot Act, Protecting the Rights of Individuals Act and Security and Freedom Ensured Act. In addition, The Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003, which was immediately named the Patriot Act II, is designed to comply with the Patriot Act, setting new guidelines for internet surveillance.
